Appeal for Karthik Paramesh Calicut

 I have an Appeal for and on behalf of Mr.Karthik Paramesh, the boy who is with us in this world, but could not enjoy his life as it would have been. He does not belong to my/our family but he is part of us. I had been longing to do something for him but why some thing? If what I believe is true we all could make is life Happier, buy making is surroundings conducive for his normal growth. Let me not puzzle much more.

 Mr.Karthik Paramesh, Male 22, well built, he looks like our neighborhood boy, he should have started supporting his family by now but his FATE it is different. Let us all together Pray not be cursed like what the life he has now.

Mr.Karthik Paramesh, is Mentally Retarded & Epileptic and his disability to perform as a normal human is termed 75%, he needs close supervision and cannot function independently says his medical report, issued by Medical board of Calicut Medical College.

His father Mr.Ramakrishnan P P (Late), born and brought up in Kannur.

Mr.Ramakrishnan was son of Mr.Parameswara Iyer, who is no more.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

Mr.Ramakrishnan was working in a Godrej Dealers place and also was doing Shanthi in a temple.

 He got married to a girl named Jayashree in 1984 this was an Intercaste marriage, which was not accepted by his family and our community members.                                                                                        

Mr.Karthik Paramesh was born on 15th July 1986.                                             

I came to know about him through is Uncle (Chitappa, only brother of Mr.Ramakrishnan) Mr.Sivaraman (35), unmarried, who works here in Trivandrum at the retail outlet of SPENCERS, he earns about Rs.5000.00 in a month and is the sole bread winner for this family of five.

About their family:

Mr.Karthik Paramesh, `s paternal Grandmother(76) is alive, living with her daughter, whom is married and working in a Bakery, her husband is running an STD booth.

Mr.Karthik Paramesh, mother Jaysree`s father is not alive, mother (70) is alive, Jaysree`s brother is working has a coolie. Jayashree have one elder and younger sister, both working in some departmental store.

Mr.Karthik Paramesh, have 2 younger sisters, one is aged 18, studying for BSC Nursing in a college at Mangalore, availing bank loan from Calicut arranged and availed because of the good heart of a Manager in South Indian Bank, the second one studying in 9th standard.

Ms.Jayashree (42) by herself is an Asthma patient and had not gone to any work since the death of Mr.Ramakrishnan, Karthik Father. Since Karthik is well built and violent most of the time, he has to be kept locked and constantly monitored because of fits.

The medical history of Mr.Karthik Paramesh is also enclosed herewith. The family needs at least Rs.100.00 per day. Because of the taboo of Intercaste marriage Mrs Jayashree and Kids are living in a Muslim dominated area, Chithan House, Poovattuparambu, Calicut.8, which is 13 kilometers away from Calicut town.

I request that some one who is in Calicut, visit them and verify the details and file a report so that if we could support the studies of the two young girls and medicine for Mr.Karthik Paramesh,. The monthly medicine need comes up to Rs.3500.00 approximately.

Currently Mr.Karthik Paramesh is taken to “National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences, Bangalore by taxi from Calicut once in 3 months for review and very recently at the end of 2009, all dosages of medicines are increased.

Calicut Brahamana Samooham has also helped this family to an extent by supporting them with free groceries. The Kanchi Kamakoti Madom is helping them with an allowance of Rs.150.00 per month, which is not being received now a day.
